Simple Memo

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how yusuke.y ("we," "us," or "our"), the developer of Simple Memo (the "App"), handles user information.

Effective and last updated: August 20, 2026

1. Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores the notes you create, including titles, note content, creation and modification dates, and app preferences such as sort order, in local storage on your device. The App does not provide user accounts or a cloud synchronization feature. We do not intentionally transmit the contents of your notes to our servers or to the third-party services described below.

If location information was attached to a note by an older version of the App, the App may preserve that information locally when migrating existing data. The current version does not request location permission or collect new location information.

Depending on your Android and Google backup settings, Android's backup service may back up and restore some App data. Backup data is handled under your device and Google account settings and the applicable service provider's policies.

2. Advertising and Consent Management

The App uses Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to display advertisements and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and manage advertising privacy choices where required. Depending on your region, consent choices, device settings, and the type of ad served, ads may be personalized, non-personalized, or limited.

AdMob may automatically collect and share information such as IP address, which may be used to estimate general location; interactions with the App or ads; diagnostic and performance information; and device or account-related identifiers, including the Android advertising ID or app set ID where applicable. This information may be used for ad delivery, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention.

For details, see the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

3. Usage Analytics

The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand App usage and improve quality. Google Analytics for Firebase may automatically collect usage and behavior events, app and device information, and identifiers used for analytics.

The App sends a custom event that reports only the result of the legacy database migration. This event does not include note titles, note content, note IDs, the number of notes, or exception messages. We do not intentionally send note content to Google Analytics for Firebase.

For details, see Privacy and Security in Firebase.

4. Push Notifications

The App uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to receive push notifications. FCM may process information needed to deliver and measure notifications, such as the App version, Firebase installation identifiers and registration tokens, device metadata, and notification interaction events. The App does not use the contents of your notes for push notifications.

You can change notification permission at any time in Android settings.

5. Support Inquiries

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, the contents of your message, attachments, and any technical information you choose to provide. We use this information to respond to your inquiry, investigate issues, and maintain the App.

6. Purposes of Use

7. Service Providers and International Processing

We use services provided by Google LLC, including AdMob, UMP, Google Analytics for Firebase, and Firebase Cloud Messaging. If Android backup is enabled, the backup provider configured on your device may also process App data. These providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live, subject to their terms, privacy policies, and applicable law. If you contact us, your email provider and our email provider also process the information needed to deliver the message.

We do not sell or rent the contents of your notes. Service providers may process or share SDK and service data as described in their own policies and as necessary to provide their services.

8. Retention and Deletion

Notes and preferences stored locally remain on your device until you delete them in the App, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App. Copies stored through Android backup may remain according to your backup settings and the backup provider's retention rules.

Information processed by Google services is retained and deleted according to the settings and policies of those services. Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, investigate related issues, maintain appropriate records, or meet legal obligations.

9. Your Choices and Rights

Where available, you can review or change advertising privacy choices from Privacy options in the App's menu. You can also manage notification permission and advertising ID controls in Android settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights concerning personal information. To make a privacy request, contact us using the address below. Because the App does not provide accounts, we may not be able to identify data held by a third-party service from your email address alone.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App. Data transmitted to the Google services listed above is encrypted in transit as described in Google's documentation. However, no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the App, third-party services, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the date above. Material changes may also be announced in the App where appropriate.
