Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how FocusStep (the "App") handles user information.
1. Information Handled by the App
The App handles information entered or configured by users, including goals, tasks, completion status, display preferences, and notification settings. This information is generally stored on the user's device.
When account, backup, or synchronization features are used, authentication information and data selected for synchronization may be sent to our servers as necessary to provide those features.
2. Notifications
If the user allows notifications, the App uses device notifications to remind the user about configured tasks. Notification permission can be changed at any time in device settings.
3. Usage Analytics
The App uses Firebase Analytics to understand feature usage and improve quality. Analytics collection is on by default. Users can enable or disable it at any time using the Send Anonymous Usage Data setting in the App's Settings screen. After it is turned off, the App does not send custom usage analytics events.
When enabled, the App may send usage information such as screens viewed, goal and task creation or completion, notification setting changes, purchase, login, and synchronization results, and plan or account status. User-entered content such as goal names, task names, and usernames is not sent. See Privacy and Security in Firebase for details.
4. Crash Analysis
The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to investigate crashes, improve quality, and improve stability. If a crash occurs, crash logs, device model, OS version, app version, and app state at the time of the crash may be sent. We do not intentionally send user IDs, usernames, goal names, task names, free-text entries, or other user-entered content or information intended to directly identify the user to Crashlytics. See Privacy and Security in Firebase for details.
5. Advertising
The free plan may display advertisements using the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). The advertising provider may handle device information for purposes such as ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention. See the Google Privacy Policy for details.
6. In-App Purchases
Premium plan purchases and payments are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not obtain payment details such as credit card numbers. Purchase information is used only as necessary to confirm purchase status and provide features.
7. Purposes of Use
- To provide, maintain, and improve the App
- To analyze anonymous usage
- To investigate crashes and improve quality
- To provide account authentication, backup, and data synchronization
- To display advertisements and prevent misuse
- To respond to support inquiries
8. Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not provide user information to third parties without the user's consent, except when required by law. Information necessary to use the external services described in this policy may be transmitted to their providers.
9. Data Management and Deletion
To delete an account and synchronized data, open Settings in the App, select Account Settings, tap Delete Account, and complete the confirmation steps.
After the account is deleted, goals, tasks, completion status, and other data stored on the device remain on that device. Device data can be deleted by deleting the relevant items individually in the App or by uninstalling the App.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy in response to feature or legal changes. Important changes will be announced on this page or in the App.
